## What's locked by default

Customers can suggest edits to text blocks. Blocks that carry numbers or signatures are locked, so the customer can only request a change:

- **Pricing table**
- **Payment schedule**
- **Signature block**

*On a locked section the customer sees: This section can't be edited directly. Describe what you need and the sender will update it.*

> **Why it matters:** Prices and quantities often come from Salesforce or from an approved quote. A request lets you change them at the source, instead of accepting a number typed by the customer.

## Handling a request on a locked section

1. Read the request in **Questions & changes**.
2. Make the change where it belongs: on the quote in Salesforce, or on a revision of the document.
3. Choose **Resolve** on the request, add a note for the customer and choose **Mark resolved**. Or choose **Decline** and say why.

*Resolve with a note to the customer.*

> **Note:** A block can also be locked or unlocked one at a time through the API and the AI tools, with its `locked` setting.
