## Add who signs, press Send — it checks the rest

This is the real editor on the Mutual NDA every new company starts with. Type who signs for the customer and send. Anything still empty, like the effective date, is asked for before it goes.

What you're seeing: Sending the Mutual NDA every new company starts with. The checklist shows what's missing, the counterparty's name, email, title and company are filled in, the effective date is asked for before sending, and the NDA goes to both signers with a short message.

1 · Once

Your company name, logo and brand color. About five minutes.

2 · Every time

Start the document

From a template, a PDF or Word file you already use, or the assistant.

3 · Every time

Add who signs

A name and an email for each person, all at once or in order.

4 · Every time

Send

Anything still empty is listed first, so nothing goes out half done.

## Start from what you have — or from nothing at all

Most teams already have an NDA or an agreement they trust. Bring it in as it is, or build one on the page with blocks for key details, pricing tables, payment schedules and signatures.

### A template

New companies start with a Consulting Agreement and a Mutual NDA. Edit the wording on the page, and mark what changes each time as a fill-in, like the effective date.

### Your PDF or Word file

Upload the contract you already send. A PDF keeps its pages and you drag fields onto them. A Word file becomes text you can edit in place.

### The assistant

Describe the document or a new clause. The assistant writes it into the page, highlights what it changed, and one click undoes it.

## Customers sign on their phone — no app, no account

One email with your logo and a single button. The document fits the screen, Start jumps from field to field, and a signature can be drawn with a finger or typed. Every view and signature is logged with the time, IP address and device.

- Signing order, or everyone at once
- The link expires after 60 days, or when you choose
- Sign in person on your own laptop or tablet
- The signed PDF, with its audit certificate, to everyone

What you're seeing: The signing email as it arrives on a phone, from the sending company via Tally Sign, with one Review and sign button. Then the signing page: the customer agrees to sign electronically, reads the order summary, types a PO number and draws a signature to finish.

## Questions and redlines — right on the document

Your customer asks a question or suggests a change right on the page. You see exactly what changed, reply or accept it, and the new version goes back for signature. Every version is kept.

What you're seeing: The signing page on a computer. The customer asks a question and suggests an edit to the invoicing terms, with a reason. The sender accepts it, and version 2 opens with the change, ready to sign.

### Questions

Pinned to the paragraph they're about. You get an email and answer in the same place.

### Suggested edits

Accept, edit and accept, or decline with a note. Pricing and signature sections take a change request instead.

### Internal notes

A note next to the text for your team. The customer never sees it.

## Or ask ChatGPT or Claude — to draft it and send it

Tally Sign has an MCP server built in, the standard way AI apps use other tools. Connect ChatGPT or Claude once with your own login, then ask for a document in a chat. It drafts it in Tally Sign, shows you the link, and sends only after you say so.

You ask

“Draft a mutual NDA with Harborview Freight. Lena Ortiz signs for them, lena@harborview.example.”

Claude Code and your own scripts use an API key on the same connection. See [how to connect](https://www.tallysign.com/university/ai/use-with-claude-or-chatgpt).

1. 1 It creates the NDA`create_nda` Effective today, with Harborview Freight and Lena as the counterparty.
2. 2 It checks the draft`check_document` Missing names or empty fill-ins, and a preview PDF.
3. 3 It shows you the draft A link to open it in the editor and change anything yourself.
4. 4 It sends when you say so`send_document` Never before you've approved it in the chat.
5. 5 It follows up`send_reminder` Ask who hasn't signed, remind them, or get the signed PDF.

What you're seeing: An AI chat with Tally Sign connected. Asked for a mutual NDA with Brightline Logistics, it creates the draft, checks it and asks before sending. After “Yes, send it”, the NDA goes out and its status becomes Awaiting signature.

## Reminders and follow-ups — that run on their own

Turn on ready-made automations from the library and adjust any of them: when it runs, who hears about it and what it says. Messages can go to Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook, and each run is logged.

## Questions

### Do my customers need an account?

No. They need an email address. They open the link and sign in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install.

### Can I send the contract I already have?

Yes. Upload it as a PDF or a Word file (.docx). A PDF keeps its pages and you place the signature fields on them; a Word file becomes text you can edit. Older.doc files need to be saved as.docx or PDF first.

### Is “no limit” really no limit?

Yes, for normal business use. The terms include a fair-use clause so one account can't use Tally Sign to send bulk mail, and that's the only catch.

### Can someone sign in the room with me?

Yes. Open the document and choose Sign in person next to their name. They sign on your device, and the certificate records that it was signed in person and who hosted it.

### Can my team sign in with Okta, Google or Microsoft?

Yes. Single sign-on through Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace or any SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect provider is part of the $20 plan, and you can require it. People can also sign in with their Google or Microsoft account.

### Do I have to use the AI?

No. The editor, templates and sending work without it. The assistant and the ChatGPT and Claude connection are there when you want them.

### What if we start using Salesforce?

Connect it from Settings. Everything you've built stays, templates can then fill from Salesforce records, and your plan becomes the Salesforce plan. See pricing for the difference.
