# Tally Sign in ChatGPT and Claude — draft, change and send from a chat > Tally Sign has a built-in MCP server: ChatGPT, Claude and Claude Code draft, edit and send documents for signature, filled from Salesforce records. Asked to send the order form for quote 00000042, it finds the quote in Salesforce, creates a draft from it and asks before sending. Asked to change the payment terms to Net 45 and add a confidentiality clause, it edits the draft, then sends it. ## 25 tools — the whole app in a chat The AI calls these on its own as it works. Each one does what the same button does in Tally Sign, with the same checks. ### Salesforce Find a quote, opportunity or any record, preview a template filled from it, and create the document linked to the record, so its status goes back to Salesforce. - **`salesforce_search_records`**: Finds quotes, opportunities, orders, contracts, accounts or contacts in your connected Salesforce org. - **`salesforce_preview`**: Shows a template filled from a record without creating anything: merge values, the signers found, quote lines and anything missing. - **`create_from_salesforce`**: Creates the document from a record, linked back to it so its status syncs to Salesforce. ### Create From any template or from scratch. A mutual NDA, a SOW from an estimate or a lease in one call, or a copy of an earlier document. - **`create_document`**: A draft from any template, or from scratch with your own blocks. - **`create_nda`**: A mutual NDA with a counterparty in one call. - **`create_sow`**: A consulting agreement or SOW from an estimate: services, pricing, payment milestones and dates. - **`create_lease`**: A residential lease for a tenant, from your rental templates. - **`duplicate_document`**: Copies a document into a new draft, or saves it as a template. ### Edit drafts Rewrite, insert, move or remove any block, pricing tables and signature fields included. Change variables, signers, CCs and signing order, and attach PDF exhibits. - **`edit_blocks`**: Inserts, rewrites, moves or removes blocks. If one change fails, nothing is saved. - **`update_document`**: Title, variables, page header and footer, email subject and message, signing order and expiry. - **`set_recipients`**: Adds or changes signers and CCs by role, or removes them. - **`describe_blocks`**: The reference for every block, field type, theme and variable. - **`attach_pdf`**: Adds a PDF exhibit from a link, the file itself or an upload from your computer. - **`list_attachments`**: The exhibits on a document, in order. - **`remove_attachment`**: Takes an exhibit off a draft. ### Send and follow up Check what would stop it from sending and get a preview PDF, send, remind whoever hasn't signed, void, and download the signed PDF. - **`check_document`**: What would stop it from sending, fields per signer, and a preview PDF link. - **`send_document`**: Emails the signing links. It needs your explicit go-ahead. - **`send_reminder`**: Emails everyone who hasn't signed yet, or one person. - **`void_document`**: Cancels a document that's out for signature. Its links stop working. - **`get_pdf_link`**: A download link for the signed PDF with its audit certificate, or a preview. - **`delete_document`**: Deletes a draft, a voided document or a template. Never a signed one. ### Look things up Find documents by status, type or title, read one block by block, and see who has opened and signed it, and when. - **`list_templates`**: Your templates, with their signer roles and every variable they use. - **`get_document`**: A document in full, or a one-line-per-block outline, with its signers, issues and history. - **`list_documents`**: Finds documents by status, type or title, with each signer's status. - **`get_status`**: Who has opened and signed, and when, with the latest history. ### Quote to SOW A ready-made prompt, `quote_to_sow`, walks the AI through turning an estimate into a SOW: services, pricing, milestones, the estimate attached as Exhibit A, a check, and your review before it sends. ## Connect in a minute — from Settings → AI & API This is the guide inside Tally Sign. If ChatGPT doesn't use Tally Sign on its own, click **+** in the message box and switch on **Tally Sign**. ## Things to ask — in your own words Names, emails and quote numbers are all it needs. Only admins create API keys, and each can be revoked. ## Questions ### Which AI apps work? ChatGPT and Claude connect with a sign-in. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and any other app that supports MCP connect with an API key. Adding a custom app in ChatGPT needs a paid ChatGPT plan. ### Can it send something without asking me? The send tool won't run unless the AI confirms you approved it, and it's marked as emailing people outside your company, so ChatGPT and Claude ask you first. Reminders are marked the same way, and voiding or deleting is marked as a change that can't be undone. ### What can it see? Your company's templates and documents in Tally Sign, the same ones your team sees in the app, and records in your Salesforce org once an admin has connected it. A connection never reaches another company's account. ### Can it change a document that's already out for signature? No. Sent documents are locked. It can void the document, copy it into a new draft, make the change and send that instead, after asking you. ### Do we need Salesforce? No. NDAs, SOWs, leases and any of your own templates work without it. The Salesforce tools come with the Salesforce plan and start working when an admin connects your org. ### How do we turn it off? In Settings → AI & API an admin can disconnect every ChatGPT and Claude connection at once, and revoke API keys one by one. Turning off someone's Tally Sign access stops their connections too. ### Does it cost extra? No. ChatGPT, Claude and API access are part of both plans, and nothing is metered.
